Sponsoring Committee

The Sponsoring Committee is responsible for providing financial and other necessary support to the 878 Banff/Canmore Squadron and assist the Commanding officer in the performance of his duties.  All members are registered and screened in accordance with the Air Cadet League policy.

The sponsoring committee meets every 2nd Monday of the month at the Headquarters.

Fundraising

The Squadron budget is dependant on fundraising activities.  Department of National Defense provides uniforms to cadets and some materials.  Most or our funding must be earned through fundraising.  

Our main fundraiser is bottle drives.  We have 4 bottle drives per year, done in Exshaw, Canmore and Banff.  We do need parents support to make those a success.  Join us for a very fun day!

Become a volunteer

First, all volunteers need to get a police record check.  In order to get one without fees, contact us to get a letter from the CO requesting a police check.  Then, fill this form.  Once completed, bring your form and your police record check to the squadron.  Once we receive it, a member of the sponsoring committee will contact you for a brief interview on the phone.  Then you will be able to participate in the activities of the Squadron.

We are a non profit organization and we rely on fundraisers and donation in order to complete our training.
